Internationally renowned death metal outfit Nile will take the stage on Saturday, Dec. 14 at The Firmament, 5 Market Point Drive, Greenville. The band, which was founded in Greenville more than a quarter-century ago, just released its newest album, “Vile Nilotic Rites,” on the Nuclear Blast label and continues to build on its reputation for delivering pulverizing but technically solid music. Marc Higgins & the Chainsaw Bears will perform, along with North Carolina’s Laura Blackley and Phil Lomac, on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Delaney’s Irish Pub, 117 W. Main St., Spartanburg. The show promises to be a treat with the rootsy power pop of the Spartanburg-based Higgins providing a perfect complement to Blackley’s soulful folk-rock and Lomac’s indie rock. Spartanburg’s Howl in the Valley will share a bill with Greer-based singer-songwriter Angela Easterling at The Eighth State Brewing Company, 400 Augusta St., Greenville. The former is an up-and-coming folk-rock trio that draws from such influences as The Lone Bellow and Langhorne Slim while the latter is a veteran of the Americana circuit who’s recorded multiple albums produced by Will Kimbrough. The Get Right Band will perform Saturday, Dec. 14 at Gottrocks, 200 Eisenhower Drive, Greenville. Hailing from Asheville, N.C. and led by veteran singer-songwriter Silas Durocher, The Get Right Band has been cranking out a hip-shaking mix of funk and progressive rock for nearly a decade.
