Texas singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen will bring his “Countdown to Christmas: Lunar Tunes & Looney Tunes” show to The Peace Center, 300 S. Main St., Greenville on Monday, Dec. 2. Keen, whose irreverent “Merry Christmas from the Family” has become a holiday classic, will pay homage to the space race and all things celestial during a fun-filled extravaganza that’s being presented in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Katie and Larry Hoskinson-Rockwell will bring their annual John Lennon tribute to The Bohemian Cafe, 2 W. Stone Ave., Greenville on Monday, Dec. 2. The music starts promptly at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a special English menu available. Tastefully presented, the show features 40 songs, including both Beatles and Lennon solo material, played non-stop with no intermission. From the mid-2000s to the early 2010s, Quarterfly was one of the most successful bands on the Upstate music scene, garnering national attention for its hook-laden modern rock sound. Notably, the Spartanburg-based group released multiple albums produced by Greg Archilla, whose credits include Buckcherry, Matchbox 20 and Collective Soul. These days, Quarterfly only makes sporadic appearances, making its hometown performance on Friday, Nov. 29 at Main Street Pub, 252 W. Main St., a pretty special event for its longtime fans. Brandy Lindsey & the Punch will perform a hometown gig on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at The Peddler, 149 W. Main St., Spartanburg. Led by its namesake, who recently made a big splash with the launch of her all-female side project The Sally Rides, BL&P delights audiences with an Americana-flavored brand of jangle pop that’s filled with top-notch songwriting and stellar musicianship. A newly formed band from Charlotte, N.C., Winter Soulstice has been busy working on its debut EP to be released in the coming year. In the meantime, the group will bring its contemporary progressive hard rock sound to Ground Zero, 3052 Howard St., Spartanburg, on Sunday, Dec. 1, sharing a bill with the Lafayette, La.-based Sick Ride and the Salisbury, N.C.-based Fall for Nothing.
